Poking

Now you can't say poking on Facebook does nothing for anyone. I was mindlessly poking tons of people FB suggested to poke, and those that poked back instantly, I poked again.

It ended up that an old secondary school friend started chatting with me 'cause he sensed that I was bored, and the catching-up was awesome. Some people say the friends you meet in college stick with you the most, but I can't imagine ever forgetting these friends in secondary school.

Although we don't meet at all, we still keep track of the important milestones in each other's lives via Facebook (as lame and overused as it is, it's really a universal social platform that's easy to use). And by milestones I mean things like his being in a relationship with another secondary school classmate, my going on my first plane trip, etc.

FB chat makes it less intrusive and encourages people to talk to each other uninhibited, because you don't feel like you're disturbing the other party or intruding their privacy. Anything you see on it has been willingly shared and it's like running into someone at a train station; you can chat and chat and it won't seem like you were going out of your way to find out things about that person.

Talking to an old friend is always worth it.

P.S. I think I can make a pretty good little sister. Anyone want to adopt me?

My teenage years

Oh how I miss this song.

One of my favorite pre-choruses ever:
Can you hear it calling?
Can you feel it in your soul?
Can you trust this longing
And take control?
Flyyyy~

Another reason I'm broke:

Concerts.

They pop up whenever they like, at whatever price they like, and expect us peasants to fork out a lung and a kidney for them.

Which I do. Gladly.

Good thing I have two of each.

Concerts, anyone?

I never knew I'd have such a hard time trying to get people to go to concerts with me!

Kasabian was fine because Chand had been definitely up for it.
The Cab needed a little cajoling for Sophia, Ziana, Chand since only Emily wanted to go.
Foo Fighters I had Stacy! Sadly, it was cancelled and the band went on freaking hiatus.
Blue and A1 and all that was free, so I actually had to turn down peeps.

Now comes the concert of my life and no one wants to go. Or rather, no one wants to pay for it. I'm contemplating forking out half for a friend to go with me, but I feel like that's being unfair to Joss Stone. Every person there should be a fan enough to buy their own ticket. The one person that I can cajole into going has another band performing the same exact night, so Joss is out for him.

Life is giving out lemons like they're free. Fuck you, life.

Mutemath is proving a dilemma for me because everyone has commitments to another band, so they're saving their money for it.

WHY, MOUSE ON THE KEYS, WHY ARE YOU SO POPULAR AMONG MY FRIENDS!?

Oh well. Time to experience going to concerts alone! If I can go to movies happily alone, why can't I do that with concerts? After all, I have the musicians to ogle at, music I love to dance to, and I don't have to care whether people are having fun because they're all strangers to me.

Luckily it's all seated or else it'd be sad to have to queue for a barricade spot on my own.
